Week 7*!!

1. What is the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
*Is the difference between the body’s temperature and the environment’s temperature where we can see the proportional change

2. What variables in your problem correspond with the variables in the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
*The environment temperature
*The corpse temperature

3. According to this Law, at what time approximately the death happened?
*the death happened minutes before that they found the body.

4. How does the room temperature affect the time of death?
* Because the body’s temperature change if the room temperature is cold or hot but always the body’s temperature is greater than the environment temperature.

5. How does an illness (e.g. fever) affect the time of death?
*It affects because if the person before dead was sick the temperature of the body change and it means that he or she didn’t have a normal temperature.

6. How exact is the approximation of the Newton’s Law of Cooling for predicting the time of death?
*It is exact because with this we can see at what time the person dead.

The Process...

4. What methods are commonly used to find the time of death
-the rate method: this method is for measure when a body have changes.
-The concurrence method: is for compare the changes of the murder in research of information.

5. What factors are considered in Algor Mortis
-Body temperature
-Evaporation
-Convection
-Radiation

6. How does the environment affect the time of death?
-The environment affects in many ways, because it makes that the body have many changes, the temperature can affect at the moment of the research of evidence, and with this I think that we can know the time of death.

7. What can you tell about the different methods of temperature reading of the body? Do they make a difference in the results?
-I think that there are different methods of temperature and with this we can't know how the person die, and it can be an evidence, I think that it is very important for the forensic science because the temperature can be one way for find some evidence.

Clarissa Rodriguez D….Forensic Scientist
Maria Yvette Alapizco…The Journalist
Jorge Alberto Beltrán….The Media Expert

1. What is forensic science?
*Is the science used for determine why someone death, how was killed, and for analyze evidence for find to the murder.

2. What kind of evidence can be collected in a murder case?
*Corporal Evidence: Blood type, DNA, fingerprints.
*Environment Evidence: dust, insects, etc.
*Anamnestic Evidence: the clues or the testimonies.

3. Why is important to determine the time of death?
*Because, we can see and understand how the crime was doing and why.

We think that the goals for this project are learn how the calculus is applied in forensic science and why we are using that.
